I while ago, While shooting a marketing campaign for the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission. The idea was very simple, Using a giant name tag, we asked several homeless people to write their name and why they were at the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission. Then cross out the reason. The point was regardless of what brought them there, they are still a person and should be treated as one. I will never forget this man, very soft spoken, very nice and all things considered quite well dressed. When he held up his name tag for his picture, I nearly dropped my camera. We take so many things for granted and allow our individual perception to sculpt the way we see our world. That day will be with me forever. Another lesson learned about the power that photography can have on telling stories, and changing perspectives.
