100th year of the Reno Rodeo

I love being a wedding photographer, Because part of how that love has grown, has been shaped by my sports/action photography I did early on. One event that I have been privileged to photograph and be a part of for the past 12 years has been the Reno Rodeo. This year marked the100th anniversary of the "Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West" It is a 10 day event with a public performance every night starting at 7pm. However it goes far far beyond what most people get to see. Almost every hour of every day for 10 days is filled with events, activities, meetings, etc. Its truly amazing how many people, and how much work, goes into the long (yet short) 10 days that the public sees. Over the years I have made friends, memories, amazing images, and has given me a look into something I would have never seen without photography. While some people love, and live the Rodeo. Others might not care or might not like it. It is, and always will hold a special place in my heart. It was an honor to be there shooting on its 100th year. This is a small gallery of images from the nearly 10,000+ images, taken over the course of the event. I still have a lot of images to go through, and already looking forward to next year.
